You Matter

I purchased this book to read to my 7th grade classes on World Read Aloud Day. By the third page, they were utterly silent. I could watch their emotions play out on their faces - many of them internalizing the message of "you matter" deeply. As I closed the book, the room was utterly silent for a few beats; the kind of silence that RARELY descends in a middle school room.


If you work with anyone - children, adults, anyone - who ever feels that what they do isn't important enough to matter, do them and yourself a favor and pick up a copy of this book. Read it. Give yourself the space to let it sink in. And then read it again.

A little book with a big message



As a mental health therapist, I am always on the look-out for books that speak to that fundamental human need of "mattering".


When we lose touch of that need, and stop believing that we matter, mental health issues like depression or anxiety can arise. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING book to read to your children



I read this book to my children before bed! At the conclusion of the book, they were silent! Their silence was followed by a huge WOW!! I can’t wait to read it again and again and again!
